Palm Tree Violin (Guatemala)
This unique folk violin is
made from cedar and rosewood... very unusual for violins.
It also has no finish, just the bare wood, giving it a
bright distinctive tone.
When Craig recorded with Ray Charles he brought several
violins to the session, and this is the one Ray liked best.
(no doubt the fancy inlay won him over)
Craig also used this instrument for the solo violins on the
film Pearl Harbor.
