Njarka (Mali)
The Njarka is similar to
the Goji, but it has a goat skin covering the gourd, and a
smoother sound. I have modified this one with a gut string
to play in a high register, and geared tuning peg.
Traditionally these were usually solo instruments, so there
was no need for precise tuning.
